The Centre for Renewable Energy and Power Utilization (CREPU) is a 18 x 18 m2 research facility, located near the Dumpsite of the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. Funded by a N37M research grant, titled “Hybrid Conversion of Renewable Energy Potentials to Energy Carriers for Efficient Charging of Electric Vehicles at the University of Lagos”, the project demonstrates an active collaboration of energy experts. And driven by the development of technologies towards a sustainable energy transition, a cross-cutting inter-disciplinary research that embraces renewable energy conversion and energy management is focused. The CREPU research facility integrates solar photovoltaic-based energy conversion, vertical-axis wind turbine-based energy conversion, and the combined anaerobic-hydrothermal biomass-based energy conversion.
